To make the most of your time at Dwyer, it’s helpful to arrive prepared and understand the role Dwyer will play in your project.
As a leading national importer and distributor of natural stone and engineered surfaces, we specialize in providing premium materials and exceptional service for both commercial and residential projects.
For slab purchases, we work directly with your fabricator to ensure the material you select is available and ready for fabrication and installation when needed. While we do not sell slabs directly to homeowners, our slab gallery allows you to explore full slabs in person, understand material characteristics, and receive guidance from our experienced team before placing your order through your fabricator.
In addition to slabs, our showroom features boutique tile collections for both interior and exterior applications. From sophisticated indoor finishes to outdoor pavers and architectural stone veneer, we offer solutions for nearly every surface of your space.
CHECKLIST
- Overall design direction and inspiration photos
- Number of slabs and/or square feet of tile you’ll need for your project
- Any size requirements for specific areas (e.g., large islands, backsplash height)
- A general installation timeframe from your fabricator or tile contractor
- Names of the companies you’re working with (fabricators, designers, contractors)
When you arrive, our showroom team will greet you and collect basic information about your project. From there, one of our design consultants will guide you through the showroom and slab gallery to source the right materials for your project.
A typical visit lasts 60–90 minutes. For larger, multi-room projects (3+ spaces), you will want to allow additional time. Be sure to bring inspiration photos and material samples, such as flooring, cabinetry, paint, or textiles, to help you visualize how everything will come together in your space.
Viewing full slabs in person allows for a more accurate selection process than looking at small samples. Our knowledgeable staff can help with design insights, material behavior, and coordinating tile options.
FIRST VISIT
This visit is all about discovery- we encourage you to come explore and select preliminary options that fit your vision and lifestyle.
For tile selection, we recommend your first visit is at least 2-3 months before installation, as all tile is custom ordered and lead times vary.
For slab selection, we recommend your first visit is at least one month before installation. Our team will send your top slab selections to your fabricator for pricing.
SECOND VISIT
Once you’ve reviewed pricing with your fabricator, you’ll return to finalize and place your slab order within 21 days of installation.
ORDER & HOLD POLICY
Once you have placed a slab order, your fabricator has 21 days to schedule pickup or delivery. If the slab(s) are not delivered or picked up by your fabricator within that window of time, the slabs will be returned to our inventory.
Selecting the right material is one of the most important decisions you'll make in your project. At Dwyer, we’re here to help guide you through that process with a wide selection of surface materials and a knowledgeable team of design consultants ready to assist.
We offer two primary categories of materials: Natural Stone and Engineered Surfaces. Each has its own characteristics, with benefits and limitations. The right choice often depends on where and how the material will be used.
Here are a few factors to consider based on placement and lifestyle:
High-Traffic Kitchens: Focus on durability, heat resistance, and how much daily maintenance you're comfortable with.
Bathroom Vanities: Consider resistance to water, humidity, and products like makeup or skincare. Design consideration for smaller spaces may allow for a bold color or statement piece.
Outdoor Kitchens or Fireplaces: Look for UV stability and weather resistance, especially in climates with seasonal extremes or direct sun exposure.
Entertaining Spaces: If you frequently host, think about how the surface handles staining or etching from wine, citrus, or oil.
Low-Maintenance Living: For busy households, consider surfaces that require minimal upkeep and offer peace of mind for everyday wear and tear.
NATURAL STONE
Natural stone is quarried from the earth and cut into slabs, meaning each piece is entirely unique. These materials are loved for their organic beauty, movement, and variation.
Includes: Marble, Quartzite, Granite and Soapstone
ENGINEERED MATERIALS
Engineered surfaces are man-made, offering consistency in color and pattern, often with increased durability and lower maintenance requirements.
Includes: Quartz, Porcelain, and Symphony Surfaces
Who is Dwyer Marble & Stone and what is their role in my project?
Dwyer is a leading national importer and distributor of natural stone and engineered surfaces, serving commercial and residential projects with premium materials and expert service. We sell full slabs exclusively to fabricators, but homeowners are welcome to visit our showroom to explore our extensive slab gallery and receive design guidance. In addition, we offer boutique tile collections for interior and exterior applications, available to homeowners and contractors by custom order with minimum requirements and varying lead times.
When should I visit Dwyer to select material?
Most people visit our showroom 2–3 times during their project. Your first visit is for discovery—exploring options that fit your vision and lifestyle. For slabs, we recommend visiting at least one month before installation; our team will share your top selections with your fabricator for pricing, and you’ll return to finalize within 21 days of installation. For tile, plan your first visit well in advance, as all tile is custom ordered and lead times vary.
What information should I prepare prior to my visit?
When visiting our showroom, it’s helpful to bring your overall design direction and inspiration photos, an estimate of the number of slabs or square footage of tile needed, and any specific requirements, such as a specific slab size to accommodate a large island or full-height backsplash. You should also know your general installation timeframe from your fabricator or tile contractor, as well as the names of the companies you’re working with, including fabricators, designers, builders or contractors.
How much time should I allow for my visit?
A typical showroom visit lasts 60–90 minutes, though larger multi-room projects (three or more spaces) may require additional time. To ensure a design consultant is available to guide you and accommodate your project needs, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment in advance.
What should I bring with me for my visit?
Bring design details and inspiration photos, along with material samples such as flooring, cabinetry, paint, or textiles to help you visualize how everything will come together in your space.
What information do I need to order material?
For slab orders, you’ll need a fabricator-confirmed installation date within 21 days, the exact number of slabs required, any size specifications, and pricing details from your fabricator on the selected material. For tile orders, you’ll need your installation date and the exact square footage required for your project.
How long will you hold my material after the order has been placed?
Slab Orders
Your fabricator has 21 days to order your material and schedule delivery or pickup from our warehouse. If delivery is not scheduled within that timeframe, the material will be released back into our stock. If your order is released but you still plan to move forward with the material, it is the fabricator's responsibility to call and schedule delivery within one week to secure the material, provided the material is still available.
Tile Orders
All tile is custom ordered and subject to minimum requirements and varying lead times. Installation dates should be coordinated with your tile contractor to ensure timely delivery.
What material is right for me?
The right material choice depends on where and how it will be used. Our Buying Guide outlines key characteristics and factors to consider, while our showroom consultants are available to help you explore options with clarity and confidence. Schedule a visit to view materials in person and find the best fit for your space and lifestyle.
